In the hospitality industry, “service” isn’t just a standard—it’s a mindset. We believe that exceptional service shouldn’t end at the project site. That’s why community service isn’t a separate initiative—it’s an extension of how we approach our work.
From national fundraising efforts to neighborhood volunteering, we’re committed to using our platform to make a meaningful difference. Giving back is important in our culture, influencing how we show up for clients, and shaping the kind of industry we want to help lead.
Why Community Service Matters at R-W
Community engagement aligns directly with our Core Values: collaboration, relationship-driven, and wholehearted commitment. Whether we’re procuring FF&E and OS&E for a new hotel or rolling up our sleeves to pack meals, we view service as a holistic approach to impact—locally, nationally, and globally.
The Benefits Go Beyond the Community
- Stronger Team Culture: Volunteering fosters deeper relationships, builds trust, and strengthens team unity beyond day-to-day project demands.
- Purposeful Perspective: Engaging in service reminds us of the “why” behind our work, helping ground our teams in what truly matters.
- Enhanced Client Relationships: Teams who feel connected to a larger purpose bring more empathy, creativity, and integrity to every client interaction.
As one R-W team member puts it:
“It’s easy to get wrapped up in deadlines and deliverables, but these moments remind us what really matters—community, connection, and purpose.”
Spotlight on Community Service Projects 2025:
Our teams have been actively involved in local and global causes this year that reflect our people and the communities we call home. These initiatives include:
1. The Paws for Freedom Walk (Currently)
This initiative is especially close to our hearts, supporting JOY International’s 2025 Paws for Freedom Dog Walk—a fun, community-focused event with a powerful mission: raising awareness and funds to combat child trafficking.
Why It Resonates With R-W
- Relevant to Our Industry: The hospitality sector intersects with global travel and supply chains—two key areas in which trafficking occurs. Supporting prevention and healing efforts is not only a moral imperative, but an industry one.
- Local and Global Impact: JOY International is headquartered near our Denver office, giving our corporate team the chance to support a local nonprofit doing meaningful global work.
- A Natural Fit: As a dog-friendly company, this initiative allows us to engage all team members across the nation and their four-legged companions while raising awareness in a lighthearted, approachable way.
What It Looks Like
From June through August 2025, R-W team members—and their pups—will be walking in neighborhoods across the country. Outfitted in JOY International bandanas and sharing educational flyers, we’ll be sparking important conversations wherever we go.
How You Can Join Us
Want to walk alongside us—or support the cause in your own way? Here are a few ways to get involved:
- Join R-W’s PAWtner Team

- Start Your Own Team

- No Pup? No Problem!
You can still participate—borrow a friend’s dog, volunteer with a shelter, or simply donate to support the mission.
Bonus: Any dog who raises $25 or more will receive a JOY International bandana—a simple way to spread awareness with every step.
2. Dallas: Feeding Local Students
In February, our Texas team organized a food drive for Love Pacs Carrollton/Farmers Branch, helping provide over 500 local students with meals during school breaks. The effort reaffirmed our belief in the importance of supporting children and families at the community level.
3. Denver: Meals with Urban Peak
In March, our Denver office partnered with Urban Peak, preparing and serving homemade dinners for youth experiencing homelessness. Sharing a meal with residents was a humbling and heartfelt experience that brought our team closer—and made a tangible difference.
4. Supporting Student Creativity
We also recently participated in a fundraiser hosted by Margot Elena, benefitting students at the University of Denver. Proceeds helped purchase essential supplies for art and history students—a cause close to our team, many of whom have personal ties to DU.
5. JOY International’s Silent Auction (Current)
In August, several of our Denver team will head to Lone Rock Retreat in Bailey, Colorado—a facility we are proud to have procured (a project supported by Netflix). The foundation was built for education-teacher retreats, and is sponsoring a silent auction for Joy International, a non-profit that fights against human trafficking and also educates middle school and high school students on Internet Sex Trafficking.
With the help of our trusted vendor partners, R-W is working to secure donations (like rugs, artwork, side tables, ottomans, and samples) to help contribute to this important cause.

Why Hospitality and Service Go Hand-in-Hand
Hospitality is about more than delivering exceptional experiences—it’s about making a lasting impact. As a global industry, we have the platform to be able to lead on issues that matter.
Addressing Human Trafficking
Hotels are often misused as transit points in trafficking networks. As a procurement partner, we believe it’s our duty to be vigilant and informed. Supporting groups like JOY International allows us to take a stand—through advocacy, education, and action.
The Bigger Picture
We believe that hospitality is more than service—it’s stewardship. Through intentional partnerships and purpose-driven action, we’re proud to support an industry capable of turning everyday decisions into powerful tools for social good.
Whether we’re delivering world-class FF&E or walking alongside our communities for a cause, the heart of our work is the same: to make a lasting, meaningful impact—together.
