Bray Whaler’s Dallas team recently joined other organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to collect 5,000 new pairs of shoes for Shoes For Orphan Souls. The project was a joint outreach between Buckner International and ABC affiliate WFAA-TV. Buckner International’s shoe drive distributes more than 3 million new pairs of shoes to children in 82 countries.
Our team assisted other volunteers in the sorting and packaging of more than 1,200 pairs of shoes by checking for matching sizes, removing tags, rubber banding shoes together and most importantly, writing a short inspirational message and placing it inside each pair. Special thanks to Fabric Innovations for donating 6 pairs of shoes, and to Diane Hachtman for bringing them to the Bray Whaler office. Emily Daum coordinated this quarter’s community service event for the Bray Whaler team.
