Jessica Bobb, director of project accounting — 15 yearsA self-professed “compulsively paper-pushing, detail-oriented nerd,” Jessie and her team flawlessly handle project accounting for all of Bray Whaler’s projects. This includes opening accounts, handling check requests, issuing draw requests for pre-funded accounts, invoicing, reconciliation, project close-out and tax accruals. She has worked with almost every major brand affiliation and type of ownership, on projects of varying size and complexity.
Jessie began working at Bray Whaler part-time during college and may never leave. She is happiest when everyone sticks to the schedule, and all the columns and rows add up perfectly. Jessie is an avid kick boxer, so we never mess with Jess.
Michael Faytol, director of IT, — 10 yearsA more apt moniker for “The Mike,” would be ‘The Shadow’ as he is rarely at his desk, and is typically found in the computer room whispering to the servers or updating laptops. Mike perfected his IT skills in the U.S. Navy, where he served as an electronics technician. In the procurement business, where instantaneous worldwide communication is critical, Mike is on call to ensure that servers, networks, phone systems, and computers are running smoothly, with disaster recovery and redundant back-up systems in place. He admits he can’t control the weather (including the recent lightning strike that hit the office building), but he does his best to control anything that plugs into an electrical outlet.
Mike grew up in Los Angeles, lived in Dallas for six years and became a full time Denverite in 2006. A practical joker with a wry sense of humor, he enjoys cycling and trying out new bike trails in Denver, especially along the Highline Canal. A connoisseur of the obscure, he enjoys exploring historic Denver locations and is a trivia aficionado. He describes himself as a “multi-faceted man who fits no existing cliché.” We agree with this summation. Most would be surprised to discover this 6′ 4″ man is hopelessly devoted to an elderly 5 lb cat named Boo (whose image often shows up in unexpected places around the office).
Pam has served in many roles with Bray Whaler, from receptionist to office manager. Pam’s favorite part of the OS&E job is keeping up-to-date with all of the latest patterns and styles of china, glass, silver and linens. She loves talking to vendors around the country and appreciates that no two days are ever the same. “Working with both independent hotels and all the major brands is challenging, and keeps things interesting and new. The hotel industry has become very innovative and artistic,” Pam explains.
When asked about the weirdest thing she has ordered recently, she replied, “Forklift,” which was purchased for the McCormick Place Event Center in Chicago. This was especially fun for Pam, as she was a licensed forklift operator in the seventies. Pam enjoys camping, reading thriller novels, making jewelry of beads, stones and crystals and hanging out with her grandsons and grandnephews as often as possible.
